  • Location & fields:

Schedule

  • Pools:

  • Draw (with referee allocation):

Pool A and B will play games of 20 min (2x10, with 2 min break). Pool C has one team less, therefore their games will be of 24 min (2x12, with 2 min break). This means the games of Pool C will start 2 min earlier (at 8:58, 10:28 and 11:28), please make sure your team is on field 2 or 3 on time. If you have to supply with player refs for these games, please make sure they know what time to be there! The start and end of each game will have a special hooter, meanwhile the end of the first half and start of second will be centralized with the games of Pool A and B.

  • There is free parking at the venue (https://www.amsterdamtouch.com/fields);

  • The tournament will be played on both natural grass and Astro turf;

  • Physio: Due to illness we are only able to organise one physio from 09:00 - 13:00. Please note that referees have priority when it comes to using the physio´s time.

  • Teams will be provided with rubbish bags to clean after themselves. We kindly ask you to leave the place as you found it.

  • Snacks will be distributed by Amsterdam players, however, if they do not manage to distribute them on time, you will be able to pick yours at the tournament control.

After-party

  • Venue: Waterkant;

  • Time: 20:30 till late;

  • Drinks available for purchase from the bar & DJ @ the venue;

  • Theme: your club's court session theme. No court session? FIT will fine you and it will be huge.

Facilities

  • Water taps are available at the locations on the field map in link;

  • Clubhouse is open for ordering food and drink (upper floor);

  • Changing rooms & showers are open and toilets are in the clubhouse (both on ground floor).

Playing rules and format

  • Based on availability we are aiming for 3 full size fields;

  • The max. number of team players is 16, with no more than 14 players making up a team/match;

  • The FIT 5 (trial) rules will apply at the event;

  • With current team numbers the games will be 20-24 minutes with a break;

  • If there is a tie, the try difference will decide the winner;

  • As it is a mixed tournament we will be applying this ruling regarding female players:

    • General rule: On the field there must me a max of 3 male players and a minimum of 1 female players. You may therefore play with 4 players;

    • Penalty: For every additional male player on the field there will be a deduction of 1 point per half.

      • For example, if there are 5 male players and 1 female player on the field at the beginning of the half time, 2 points will be deducted. The same will apply to the second half making a total of 4 points deduction.

  • One male and one female MVP will be selected at the end of the tournament.

Expectations

  • To ensure a smooth time schedule, please make sure your team is on time and your designated player-referee knows when they are needed and at which field they are needed --> share the draw with your players!;

  • Respect your opponents and the referee's;

  • Dispose your team's rubbish in the bins provided :D

Last minute accommodation tips

  • Accommodation close to Sloterdijk is preferable, we don't have any deals with the hotels at the moment - they don't need us :(. I would recommend Sloterdijk as it is a little closer to the fields (and gives an option for the bus) plus is relatively close to where we plan the after party location (Waterkant). It's also easy to get into the center from Sloterdijk (with bike, train, tram or metro -> or walking!).

  • We've heard good things about the XO hotels - they can usually accommodate larger numbers. The closer you stay to the center the more expensive it is usually.

  • Regarding camping:

Fees & final payment

  • Included:

    • Tournament;

    • Lunch and dinner;

    • Physio;

    • Entry to afterparty.

  • Not included:

    • After Party drinks;

    • Transport.

let's go!
